The Halifax Resolves Chapter NC SAR and the Roanoke Rapids HS Honors History class of Mr. Seth Warren recently conducted a second flag retirement ceremony this calendar year during one of the school’s power periods. Approximately 150 students attended the ceremony that was written and conducted by the class.  The RRHS JROTC presented the colors and the band provided a bugler to play “Taps”. Halifax Resolves Chaplain Rev. Duncan Jones and HRC President Ken Wilson (as Burn Master) were there in a support role.  The Roanoke Rapids Fire Department also attended to monitor the burn.  Fifty-six flags were retired with honor and the ashes buried in an unmarked grave by the Burn Master.
