RRPD Deputy Chief Recognized

Roanoke Rapids Police Department Deputy Chief E. A. “Andy Jackson was awarded the SAR Law Enforcement Commendation Medal by Halifax Resolves Chapter President Ken Wilson. Wilson presented the medal at a meeting of the Roanoke Rapids City Council.  The recommendation by Roanoke Rapids Chief of Police Chuck Hasty cited that “Deputy Chief Jackson has been instrumental in the Police Department’s Summer Kids Camp, National Night Out, Citizens Academy and Neighborhood Watch Programs.  He plans, coordinates speakers, schedules entertainment and vendors for the night out event. In addition, Deputy Chief Jackson developed the academy program and organizes the watch programs.  Deputy Chief Jackson works many hours on each of the programs and embraces the challenges without any gripes or complaints.  Deputy Chief Jackson has made this part of our mission of being proactive in community involvement become successful.”
