During the June Halifax County Board of Commissioners meeting Halifax County Sheriff’s Deputy Corey L. Dixon, Sr. was honored for his service by the Halifax Resolves NC SAR Chapter.

Deputy Dixon began his law enforcement career in March of 2003 serving citizens in Halifax County where he has served as a patrol officer, a criminal investigator, narcotics agent, and gang officer. His dedicated service has allowed him to be a part of major drug and criminal cases that were prosecuted in State and Federal Court. Corey’s efforts made a great impact towards successfully solving a quadruple homicide that has been cleared with the arrest of four violent offenders.

In recognition of his service and contributions to keep the citizens of Halifax County safe, the Sons of the American Revolution are presenting Deputy Corey L. Dixon, Sr. with the Law Enforcement Commendation Medal. This award is a once in a lifetime award to an individual.  It is awarded “in recognition of outstanding achievement and dedication to the maintenance of law and order.”

Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp nominated Deputy Dixon for the award that was presented by Halifax Resolves chapter member Ken Wilson.
