December 2012

  • December 2, 2012 - Color Guard members are needed for the December 2nd Roanoke Rapids Christmas Parade. The rally point for the parade will be the south parking lot of the Kirkwood Adams Civic Center, 1100 Hamilton St. Roanoke Rapids, N.C. Line up for the SAR is 1:30pm. The parade starts at 2:00pm and it is approximately 1.5 miles in length. The SAR is the lead unit for the fourth consecutive year. Dutch Treat Luncheon will be held at Logan’s Roadhouse, 200 Premier Blvd., Roanoke Rapids beginning at 11:00am. Departure for the assembly area is 12:15pm to allow for vehicle staging.   • December 15, 2012 - Wreaths Across America Ceremony at Fort Bragg, NC and Wilmington National Cemetery, Wilmington, NC. (12:00 PM)

    January 2013

  • January 18-19, 2013 - Join the SCSSAR and the NCSSAR for a brand new Battle of Cowpens Commemoration weekend! The ceremony begins on Friday, January 18 at 2:30pm with the ceremony at the Daniel Morgan Statue in Spartanburg, SC, followed by the South Atlantic District Meeting at the Quality Inn and Suites in Spartanburg at 4:00pm. A new SAR/DAR presentation on the Battle of Cowpens will be held at 7:30pm on Friday. Then join the SCSSAR for a breakfast beginning at 7:00am on Saturday, January 19 with the Battle of Cowpens Ceremony beginning at 10:00am with the march to the Battlefield.

  • January 26, 2013 - The Mecklenburg Chapter is sponsoring the 232nd Anniversary of the Battle of Cowan’s Ford & Wreath Laying at the Gravesite of General William Lee Davidson at Hopewell Presbyterian Church beginning at 9:15am with hot coffee and biscuits.   • February 9, 2013 - Revolutionary Days & the Kettle Creek Commemoration in Washington, GA.

  • February 16, 2013 - The Raleigh Chapter is hosting a dinner honoring George Washington's birthday at the North Raleigh Hilton in Raleigh, NC with dinner beginning at 6:30pm. Download the RSVP form and Program here. At dinner the chapter will raffle a reproduction .45 caliber flintlock longrifle representative of the primary milita firelock of the American Revolution. Use this form to enter the raffle - you do not need to be present to win.

  • February 16, 2013 - Crossing of the Dan celebration in South Boston, VA. Please email Bernard Baker at bernie.sar@gmail.com if you plan on attending this year. We should have at least two surprises for the 2013 Crossing. Thank you for your support and we look forwarding to seeing you.

  • February 21, 2013 - President Thomas Jefferson requests your presence for dinner beginning at 6:00pm in Charlotte, NC. The Mecklenburg chapter invites you to attend and enjoy dinner, conversation and entertainment with President Jefferson. Dinner begins at 6:00pm at the Hilton Executive Park Hotel, off I-77 at Tyvola Road, 624 Westpark Drive, Charlotte, NC 28217. You need to RSVP to attend! Only 150 seats are available.   • February 23, 2013 - Join the NCSSAR for the 237th Anniversary of the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge in Currie, NC. The ceremony begins at 10:00am.

  • March 1-2, 2013 - National SAR Spring Leadership Meeting in Louisville, KY.

  • March 16, 2013 - Join the NCSSAR for the 232nd Anniversary of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse Commemoration in Greensboro, NC beginning at 10:00am.

  • March 16, 2013 - Immediately following the Battle of Guilford Courthouse Commemoration, the NCSSAR will hold our Spring BOM in Greensboro, NC.

  • April 5-6, 2013 - South Carolina SCSSAR Annual Meeting in Columbia, SC.

  • April 6, 2013 - The Halifax Resolves chapter invites you to participate in the 237th Anniversary Celebration of the Adoption of the Halifax Resolves on Halifax Resolves Day in Halifax, NC.

  • April 19-20, 2013 - NCSSAR Annual Convention & South Atlantic District meeting in Asheville, NC at the Crown Park Resort. Make your hotel reservations here or call 1-888-233-9527 before March 10, 2013!
