We have a block of rooms set aside at a special price of $69.99, so if you are planning to stay there let them know you are with the SAR event.

The Halifax Resolves Chapter will conduct a grave marking for Compatriot James Carlos Harris at 10:00 am, Saturday June 16, 2018. Compatriot Harris was a charter member of the now defunct Harrison-Macon Chapter that was based in Louisburg. He is buried in the family cemetery located at 3200 NC Hwy 58, Warrenton, NC.

The ceremony will be held at 2200 McConnaughey Lane, Morganton, 28655. Attorney General Josh Stein will be the guest speaker. Avery was a Colonel in the militia. He served as North Carolina’s first Attorney General and was the leading figure in drafting North Carolina’s first Constitution. Avery was involved in a duel with Andrew Jackson. A reception will follow.
