It was a cold, blustery day on February 11th, 2006. The 225th Anniversary Celebration of the Crossing of the Dan was moved from Constitution Square to the Chastain Theatre, inside the Prizery at South Boston, Virginia (called on account of the weather). This was an inaugural affair, the first time that city leaders and members of Patriotic Organizations had assembled in one place to officially celebrate a historic event. By the warmth of its reception, the historians of this town on the Dan River in Virginia expect many more to follow.
