Fog ... crowds ... Patriotic Organizations ... members of Congress ... bands .. reenactors ... crowds .... fog. That, in a nutshell, was the spectacle that the 225th Anniversay of the Victory at Yorktown offered to the American public. It was a well-attended event as the planners forsaw that it would be. There was no lack of pageantry and enthusiasm. The SAR began its celebrations early in the morning at Governor Thomas Nelson's Gravesite, marched in The Parade, attended the ceremonies, then ended their day in the company of Lafayette, Rochambeau, Washington, and Governor Nelson at dinner. It was quite a day.
