Please join the Mecklenburg Chapter and the Vesuvious Furnace DAR chapters for a grave marking ceremony for three (3) Revolutionary War Patriots beginning at 9:00am at the Bethel United Methodist Church, 7284 Campground Road, Denver, NC 28037.

The three Patriots being honored are Pvt. Jeremiah Munday/Mundy, Capt. Spencer Shelton and Pvt. Edmond Waggoner.

A short reception inside the Church hall will follow the ceremony. We need Color Guard members to please attend and support our DAR friends.

US Flag Etiquette Class – Sandhills Chapter

With the Forth of July Holiday right around the corner, many organizations will be displaying American Flags to celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The Sandhills SAR Chapter is offering a FREE Public Service Class on the Proper Handling, Displaying, and the respectful Retirement of a weather worn American Flag This class maybe helpful to Girl Scouts, Boy Scout Troops, Public Service organizations, patriotic and Veterans organizations, and interested home owners. Children are always welcome.

The annual Raleigh Chapter Tara Farm Picnic will be held on Saturday, June 26 starting at 11:30 AM with lunch at noon. Bring your family and join us for a great meal and fellowship. The menu is Fried Chicken and Pork BBQ from The Forks Cafeteria & Catering. The cost is $18 per adult, $9 per child under 21.
The deadline to register is June 16 so don’t delay. Tara Farm is located at 715 Newton Rd in north Raleigh about 1.5 miles south of the NC540 outer loop between Six Forks Rd and Falls of Neuse Rd
